AI Integration & Classroom Innovation

We help educators integrate AI and new and emerging technology in ways that strengthen learning without replacing student thinking. Our approach is grounded in sensemaking, productive struggle, and the Science and Engineering Practices. We work with schools and districts to design AI-resilient tasks, build routines that make reasoning visible, and develop AI literacy as disciplinary thinking, not tool training.
What We Do
STAC helps schools and districts integrate AI and other emerging technologies in ways that strengthen teaching and learning without replacing student thinking. Our modular approach gives partners the flexibility to engage in standalone support or build a coherent program for classroom innovation. Educators learn to use new technologies purposefully to support reasoning, critique, and evidence-based decision-making. Teams design AI-resilient tasks and routines that make thinking visible and preserve productive struggle. We help build AI literacy as disciplinary thinking, not tool training. And leaders gain support in aligning innovation with instruction, curriculum, and assessment for lasting impact.

How We’re Different
“Innovation matters most when it makes reasoning more visible.”
“AI literacy is not tool fluency. It is the ability to think critically within a discipline.”
“Purposeful technology use preserves the productive struggle that learning requires.”
“New technologies belong in classrooms only when they deepen learning.”
At STAC, we don’t just introduce new technologies, we help educators make instructional decisions that keep student thinking at the center.
1. Learning First, Technology Second
We start with what meaningful learning requires, then determine how AI and other emerging technologies can support it without taking over the thinking students need to do.
2. AI Literacy as Disciplinary Thinking
We help educators build students’ ability to question, evaluate, and refine AI-generated information using evidence, reasoning, and disciplinary knowledge.
3. Designing for Productive Struggle
We support teachers in using new technologies in ways that preserve challenge, so students remain responsible for explaining, justifying, revising, and making sense of ideas.
4. Classroom Routines That Make Thinking Visible
Our work includes practical routines that help students critique outputs, compare ideas, and use evidence to support decision-making in everyday classroom learning.
5. Innovation Aligned to Systems
We connect AI and emerging technology integration to instruction, curriculum, and assessment, helping schools and districts implement innovation in coherent, sustainable ways.
What Partners Experience
Districts and organizations that partner with STAC see more purposeful, coherent use of AI and emerging technologies across classrooms and systems:
- Stronger alignment between innovation, instruction, curriculum, and assessment
- Greater clarity about how technology can support reasoning without replacing it
- More frequent use of tasks and routines that make student thinking visible
- Increased educator confidence in using AI and other emerging tools with intention
- More sustainable innovation across schools and districts
Bring Purpose to AI and Classroom Innovation
New technologies can reshape classrooms, but only when they are grounded in strong instruction and meaningful learning. Build a plan that aligns innovation with curriculum, assessment, and student thinking.
Let’s build an approach to innovation that leads to deeper learning.
